Robert Ludlow's Bourne plot draws mostly from the cinematic version of Bourne's identity. Although the game does not use semi-matt Damon (which portrays Bourne in the movies), it is because of the creative differences with the actor who initially wanted to play to be more similar to that of MYST instead of the shooter. It fits closer to the story of a film than that of novels, and features musical themes from films.

As the film begins, the character of the player is also found as a memory loss off the coast of Marseille, but as the game progresses, the player progresses with more evidence of Burren's real identity.

Jason Bourne's senses are an important part of the surviving game, with elements or noteworthy light spots when the switch is turned to that sense, changes in visual style, with brighter task elements.
